Dirigido por Don Letts - colaborador do The Clash há alguns anos e diretor vencedor do Grammy - o filme mostra a transformação ao vivo da banda. ‘The Clash Live – Revolution Rock’ incorpora gravações de todas as fases da carreira meteórica do grupo, iniciando com clipes ao vivo no estúdio e chegando ao clímax com uma apresentação surpreendente no Shea Stadium, cujo áudio também pode ser ouvido em ‘Live at Shea Stadium’.

Outros destaques incluem performances de 1977 como ‘Capital Radio’ e ‘What's My Name’, no programa de TV Granada de Tony Wilson; ‘Guns of Brixton’, no programa da ABC ‘Fridays’; ‘The Magnificent Seven’ e ‘This Is Radio Clash’, de uma visita de 1981 ao programa ‘The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder’; e filmagens do US Festival de 1983, último show do The Clash com Mick Jones. Extras do DVD trazem entrevistas no ‘The Tomorrow Show’ e no programa da NBC ‘Live at Five’.
